Bob Gasoi Memorial Art Alley
Mural fragments and various sculptures honor the longtime artist.
View of the alley from Commercial Street.
This vibrant alley on Commercial street just off Ryder contains jig sawed figures from murals by artist Bob Gasoi that once adorned the old Shop Therapy store from 1987 to 2010.
The assemblage of mural fragments, metal art sculptures, and paintings was created by Arnie Charnick, assisted by Bo Johnson. Included in the works is a series of 10 4x6 paintings of scenes from Alice in Wonderland titled “Alice Alas.”
Many other pieces are parodies of classical art, feature nudity, and statements on the nature of what can be considered “obscene.”
Know Before You Go
